Blood Covenant, Israel, and the End-times, Week 5

OVERCOMING LIFE

Revelation 12:11

And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.

(him – Devil, Satan, accuser of our brethren – Rev. 12:9,10)

Overcame – nikao – to subdue, conquer, prevail, get the victory

Blood of the Lamb – covenant seal, shed for our salvation

Word – logos – something said, reasoning, computation, motive, intent

Testimony – marturia – evidence given, witness, report

Two Things

Covenant and our Voice

These are tied together in the authority given to us

We have a covenant

We have experiences and faith to boast of the goodness of God from the covenant

Leviticus 17:11 – For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it to you upon the altars to make atonement for your souls; for it is the blood that makes atonement for the soul.

Psalm 2:7,8 – I will declare the decree; The Lord has said to Me, You are My Son, Today I have begotten You. Ask of Me, and I will give You The nations for Your inheritance, And the ends of the earth for you possession.

This is obviously a prophecy about Jesus, but since He has called us Friends, covenant partners, we have the impetus to ‘declare His decree’.

The decree we declare can be God’s promises, simply the word of salvation – healing, forgiveness, provision, wholeness, deliverance, wellness, protection, God’s purpose for the nations.

Our testimony is what others hear and see from us and what the enemy hears in the Spirit.

Our voice is so important!

It must be heard by others, and in prayer.

2 Timothy 4:2 — Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching.

Romans 10:17 – So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Isaiah 52:7 – How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him who brings good news, Who proclaims peace, Who brings glad tidings of good things, Who proclaims salvation, Who says to Zion, “Your God reigns!”

Faith is brought to others when we give our testimony connected to our covenant promises.

We provide a path for others to believe – in good things,

in salvation, in God’s ability to provide.

This voice needs to be raised in the End-times!

The Blood

Hebrews 9:13 – How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without spot to God, cleanse you conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

Moses took the blood of calves and goats and sprinkled it on the book, the people, the tabernacle, all the vessels of the ministry and said (Hebrews 9:20) “This is the blood of the covenant which God has commanded you.” Hebrews 9:22 – And according to the law almost all things are purified with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no remission (to send away, release from bondage, forgiveness).

Hebrews 10:1,2,3,14

For the law, having a shadow of the good things to come, and not the image of the things,

can never with these same sacrifices, which they offer continually year by year,

make those who approach perfect.

For then would they not have ceased to be offered?

For the worshipers, once purified, would have had no more consciousness of sins.

But in those sacrifices there is a reminder of sins every year.

. . .

For by one offering He has perfected forever those who are being sanctified.

Perfected – teleos – complete, finished – what Jesus said on the cross – it is finished – teleos – what the Generals shouted when the observed the battle and saw that it was finished – just needed to be wrapped up but it was done. It’s where we get the word TallyHo!

Jonathan Cahn talks about seeing the end from the beginning and thereby fighting the won battle, living the won life, pursuing the achieved success.

That’s overcoming by the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony.

James 2:23 – And the Scripture was fulfilled which says, “Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to his for righteousness.” And he was called the friend of God.

Proverbs 18:24 – A man who has friends (raya – acquaintance) must himself be friendly,

But there is a friend (ahab – affectionate friend) who sticks closer than a brother.

This most likely refers to Covenant Partner – Friend

Genesis 15:17 – And it came to pass, when the sun went down and it was dark, that behold, there appeared a smoking oven and burning torch that passed between those pieces.

How did God go with the Israelites and lead them in the wilderness?

A cloud of smoke by day and a pillar of light at night – the smoking oven and burning torch.

God himself walked through the sacrificed animal.

Blessing of covenant: I will give my life for you as this animal did.

Curse of the covenant: If you break this covenant you will give your life as this animal did.

Deut. 11:26 – He set before them a blessing and a curse.

Deut. 28:16-68 lists curses. Joshua 8:34,35 Joshua read all of them to the people.

Galatians 3:13,14

Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us

(for as it is written. “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”)

that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus,

that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

We are free from every curse in Deut. 28 because of Jesus!

Isaiah 49:16 – See, I have inscribed you on the palms of my hands.

John 20:19 – When He had said this, He showed them His hand and His side. Then the disciples were glad when they saw the Lord.

The mark of the covenant was on his hands.

Ephesians 1:13 – In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise,

who is the guarantee (down payment) of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory.

The covenant seal was the mark in the hands – we are sealed with the Holy Spirit.

Jesus took the name, Son of Man. We took the name Christ-ones.

John 15:15,16, 17 – No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing, but I have called you friends, for all things that I heard from My Father I have made known to you. You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you. These things I command you, that you love one another.

His name gives us authority in this earth. We need to use it, all the while remembering the binding tie of the covenant is lovingkindness (chesed).

Romans 9, 10, 11

Paul retells the whole story of the covenant with Abraham and that in Isaac the seed would be called and then that He chose Jacob. He then pours out his heart that Israel might be saved.

From there he goes into how to be saved and how we receive faith.

He then explains how Israel’s rejection of Jesus opened the door for us to be grafted in so we are warned not to be arrogant about what we have in God.

Romans 11:29-33

For the gifts and calling are irrevocable, for as you were once disobedient to God, yet have now obtained mercy through their disobedience, even so these also have now been disobedient, that through the mercy shown you they also may obtain mercy. For God has committed them all to disobedience, that He might have mercy on all. Oh,the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out!

Romans 11:25,26,27 – For I do not desire, brethren, that you should be ignorant of this mystery, lest you should be wise in your own opinion, that blindness in part has happened to Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in. And so all Israel will be saved as it is written: “The Deliverer will come out of Zion, And He will turn away ungodliness from Jacob; For this is My covenant with them, when I take away their sins.

Fullness – filling, replete, fulfilled, leveled up, completed of an appointed time

Appointed times, Set times – moed (Hebrew)

These are set by the Lord – they will happen, but we need to flow with them.

Simeon in Luke 2 had the Holy Spirit upon him and it was revealed to him that he would not see death until he’d seen the Lord’s Christ.

But then he prayed the end from the beginning for he had revelation.

We pray from God’s vantage point, see the end from the beginning as he reveals things to us and then you fight the won battle, accomplish the done work, live the finished you.

We learn to usher in the moeds of God with prayer. These things will happen, but we desire that people accept them or are prepared or protected or receptive.

God can show us so many things He has planned.

Timothy was exhorted in 1Tim.18 to wage a good warfare according to the prophecies made to him.

So we sense an awakening is coming or greatly needed in a certain area, we must pray it in. We might sense or know God has promised it – maybe it’s a job, or a healing, or a new house.

We pray.

With intent, with understanding (that God has it planned), with authority.

We don’t sit on our laurels. We help prepare. We help build the platform.

The enemy has built a platform for the anti-Christ.

Let us not fail to build a platform for God’s purposes in America.

It will certainly be in prayer.

It may also be in teaching, building, working with people – any number of things.

It may be the calling for which you have been called.

God’s amazing ways that set appointed times and allows us to participate in bringing it to pass.

Prep for Week 6

Consider the moeds (appointed times) in your life: ______________________________________

_________________________________________________________________________

What moeds have you noticed in Scripture: _________________________________________

__________________________________________________________________________

What moeds do you foresee for Israel: ___________________________________________

________________________________________________________________________

What moeds do you feel impressed to pray for: ______________________________________

_______________________________________________________________________________

Are there other things where God has shown you the end from the beginning so that you can pray with confidence, intent, or intensity? ______________________________________________________

____________________________________________________________________________

Is there a calling that lines up with bringing to pass God’s moed? He sets the time but invites us to participate with prayer and with our calling. _________________________________________
