Blood Covenant, Israel, and the End-times, Week 3, Prep

Why We Love Israel

(much of this is taken from notes I took when Lynn Hammond spoke at the Daughters for Zion Prayer Summit on July 22, 2018)

Exodus 19:4-6 – . . . I bore you on eagles’ wings and brought you to Myself. Now therefore, if you will indeed obey My voice and keep My covenant, then you shall be a special treasure to Me above all people; for all the earth is Mine. And you shall be to Me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.

2 Chronicles 6:6 – Yet I have chosen Jerusalem, that My name may be there, . . .

2 Chronicles 6:13 – and he said: “Lord God of Israel, there is no god in heaven or on earth like You, who keep Your covenant and mercy with Your servants who walk before You with all their hearts.”

Isaiah 62:1 – For Zion’s sake I will not hold My peace, And for Jerusalem’s sake I will not rest, Until her righteousness goes forth as brightness, And her salvation as a lamp that burns.

Isaiah 62:6,7 – I have set watchmen on your walls, O Jerusalem; They shall never hold their peace day or night. You who make mention of the Lord, do not keep silent, And give Him no rest till He establishes And till He makes Jerusalem a praise in the earth.

Psalm 125:1,2 – Those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion, which cannot be moved, but abides forever. As the mountains surround Jerusalem, So the Lord surrounds His people from this time forth and forever.

Zechariah 2:5 – ‘For I,’ says the Lord, ‘will be a wall of fire all around her, and I will be the glory in her midst.’

Zechariah 2:8 – . . . for he who touches you touches the apple of His eye.

Gentiles and Jews Who Loved Israel

Luke 7:5 – “for he (centurion who sent to Jesus to speak the word so his servant would be healed) loves our nation, and has built us a synagogue.”

Acts 10:2 – a devout man (Cornelius, a centurion) and one who feared God with all his household, who gave alms (charitable gifts) generously to the people, and prayed to God always.

George Washington provided a memorial to the Jewish people by adding the Star of David with a burst of glory from the Temple on the dollar bill.

Why We Pray

Genesis 15:1 – After these things the word of the Lord came to Abram in a vision, saying, “Do not be afraid, Abram. I am your shield, your exceedingly great reward.” Then God showed him the stars and said that’s how many his descendants would be.

Deuteronomy – 32 times God tells His people to go in and possess the land.

Ezekiel 36:7-9 – Therefore thus says the Lord God: “I have raised My hand in an oath that surely the nations that are around you shall bear their own shame. But you, O mountains of Israel, you shall shoot forth your branches and yield your fruit to My people Israel, for they are about to come. For indeed I am for you, and I will turn to you, and you shall be filled and sown.
